Oxygen sensor is a kind of metallurgy detection probe which is designed to measure the oxygen content and temperature of the molten steel fast, accurately and directly.
1. Application:
Used for primary melting furnace,LF and RH furnaces and so on, oxygen probes measure oxygen activity of the molten steel and the oxygen activity of the molten steel in the treating process, which can guarantee the deoxidizer addition, shorten the refining time, help to develop new varieties, improve technology, and promote steel purity.
2. Main features and range of application:
Oxygen sensor has three types:
1)Oxygen sensor for high ppm
2)Oxygen sensor for low ppm .
3)Oxygen sensor for ultra-low ppm.
The first one is used to measure the temperature and high oxygen content of molten steel in converter, electric furnace, refining furnace. The second one is used to measure the temperature and low oxygen content of molten steel in LF, RH, DH, tundish, etc. and also quickly measure acid soluble aluminum. The third one is suitable for the steel smelting process which require the ultra-low oxygen content.
3. Principle:
"Solid dielectric concentration cell oxygen-content test technology" is applied in oxygen sensor, which allows to measure the temperature and oxygen content of molten steel at the same time. Oxygen sensor consists of oxygen cell and thermocouple. Oxygen content can be calculated from the measured oxygen potential and temperature of the molten steel.
4. Features:
1) The oxygen activity of the molten steel can be measured directly and rapidly, which is helpful to determine the amount of the deoxidizing agent, and improve the operation of the deoxidation.
2) The oxygen sensor is easy to operate. Measurement results can be obtained just 5-10s after inserting it into the molten steel.

Working condition: 1400℃-1760℃
Measuring range: 50ppm~1000ppm
Measurement resolution: 0.1mv
Measurement accuracy: 0~5mv
Oxygen potential: -300mv~+300mv
Response time: 8s-10s
Measurement efficiency: 98%
Measurement efficiency is usually above 98%, but it is related to operations by the workers; if misused, measurement efficiency will be reduced.
Note: If oxygen activity in molten steel is above 50ppm, oxygen sensor for high ppm is suggested.
2) Oxygen sensor for low ppm
Working condition: 1500℃-1760℃
Measuring range: 1ppm~1000ppm
Measurement resolution: 0.1mv
Measurement accuracy: 0~3mv
Oxygen potential: -300mv~+300mv
Response time: 8s-10s
Measurement efficiency: 98%

Note: If oxygen activity in molten steel is between 1ppm and 50ppm, oxygen sensor for low ppm is suggested.
3) Oxygen sensor for ultra-low ppm

Measuring range: 1ppm~1000ppm
Measurement resolution: 0.1mv
Measurement accuracy: 0~1mv
Oxygen potential: -300mv~+300mv
Response time: 8s-10s

Note: If oxygen activity in molten steel is between 1ppm and 5ppm, oxygen sensor for ultra-low ppm is suggested. If oxygen activity is between 1ppm and 5ppm, oxygen sensor for ultra-low ppm is more accurate than oxygen sensor for low ppm.
